What we do know is that two thousand years later, the Province of Limburg and the municipalities of Maastricht, Meerssen, Valkenburg aan de Geul, Voerendaal, Simpelveld, Heerlen, and Kerkrade are the driving forces behind the project that makes the Roman past of this region visible and tangible.\r\n\r\nThe partners have worked on a digital knowledge bank, information panels, a book, Roman festivals and exhibitions. Museums and entrepreneurs also devote explicit attention to the Roman past. By joining forces an overarching platform has been created that guides residents and visitors of South Limburg to both existing and new experiences.\r\n\r\nAll these experiences are the achievement of the Friends of Via Belgica: a group of dedicated entrepreneurs, volunteers, institutions, and governments. Together with the initiators of the project they put the Via Belgica and the Roman landscape of South Limburg on the map. By working hand in hand they make Via Belgica a true project of connection.\r\n\r\n \r\n
