It was cultivated on the fertile loess soils of the Heuvelland. From there, the spelt was transported along the Via Belgica to the Rhine frontier, where hungry soldiers guarded the border. Centuries ago, South Limburg was known as the granary of the Romans. It is therefore no coincidence that Bakery Aroma uses only Kollenberger spelt.
