They planted the first vines on the Fromberg. Their ambition: to raise South Limburg wine to the level of wines with their own designation, equal to other classified European wines. The result: fine, honest wines that pass every test with ease, eagerly embraced by restaurants and much loved by enthusiasts.\r\n\r\nThat Limburg\u2019s soil is ideally suited for producing good wine was discovered by the Romans some two thousand years ago. They planted their first vines here. The sunny hills, the poor limestone soil, and the slightly warmer temperatures turned out to be the perfect ingredients for viticulture in South Limburg.
