At its Titz-H\u00f6llen branch, a replica of an Iron Age farmstead provides a vivid and exciting insight into the lives of our ancestors in pre-Roman times, as well as the work involved in preserving archaeological monuments.\r\n\r\nThe farmstead from the 5th century BC, reconstructed on the basis of excavation findings from the Inden open-cast lignite mine, with its six buildings and furnishings, allows visitors to immerse themselves in the past. School classes and groups with guests of all ages are invited to visit the Iron Age farmstead and take part in the wide range of events on offer.\r\n\r\nThey can try out prehistoric techniques for themselves, and workshops and the popular \u2018children's excavation\u2019 are on the programme for school classes.
