They want to discover more about the soil structure. Fortunately, in several places it turned out to be still undisturbed.\r\n\r\nSo there may still certainly be traces, finds and structures from the Roman period present\u2014ranging from a wall or a potsherd to a fine object. On Sunday 18 June, during the National Archaeology Days, the kick-off of Heel Heerlen Digs! will take place. Then, between 13:45 and 17:00, the first small pit will be dug in the Ingenieur Dinger Garden. We are already curious. You too?\r\n\r\nFrom 13:00 to 17:00 you can experience activities at various places in Heerlen: sieving for finds, excavating a skeleton, cooking with the Roman cook, mending pottery sherds and much more.
