The Romans also thought this was a wonderful place to stay. In Voerendaal, you can still stroll through Roman gardens, taste Roman wine, and follow an ancient Roman route.<\/p>\n<p>Right through what is now Voerendaal, the Romans built a major road: the Via Belgica. Alongside it, they constructed the largest villa ever found in the Netherlands, cultivated fields for large-scale grain production, and left behind remarkable finds.
