LECTURE – ‘Research on Voerendaal-Ten Hove and Other Roman Villas’ by Dr. Henk Hiddink
This event is organized by the Roman Museum
De Vondst Heerlen
The Roman villa of Voerendaal-Ten Hove has sparked the imagination for more than a century. From the very first excavation in 1892 to the extensive research of the 1980s, much has been uncovered but a complete story was missing… until now.
Archaeologist Dr. Henk Hiddink will take you on a journey through the fascinating history of the villa and its surroundings. Thanks to recent research, supported by the Dutch government and the Province of Limburg, all finds and documents have been re-examined. The results reveal not only life in Roman times, but also that of the Late Iron Age and the Early Middle Ages.
Other Limburg villas will also be featured in this lecture.
With more than twenty years of experience in archaeological fieldwork and research, Hiddink brings the past to life with surprising insights and vivid storytelling.
A unique opportunity to hear the full and up-to-date story of this remarkable site!
