Archaeological Finds from Thorn
Through excavated and dredged treasures from the Maasgouw region, we take you back in time. For the very first time, amateur archaeologists from Thorn are sharing their most beautiful and remarkable discoveries with the public. In addition, Luc Amkreutz (curator at the National Museum of Antiquities) and Jan Roymans (senior archaeologist at RAAP) make valuable contributions to the project. Archaeological Finds is a small yet rich treasure chamber where visitors can explore fascinating objects and their intriguing stories.
Unique Roman finds can also be discovered here, such as the stunning signet ring pictured below. Curious for more? Be sure to take a look: www.museumthorn.com.
The exhibition was created in collaboration with the museums of Stevensweert and Maasbracht, as well as the Cultural Heritage Foundation of Wessem.
Come and be surprised by the hidden history of Maasgouw!
