On Sunday, 8 September at 5 p.m., the Thermenmuseum in Heerlen will close. After 47 years, the museum that protects the remains of the Roman bathhouse becomes history itself. Up to and including Saturday, 7 September, the museum will also be open in the evening because of this farewell.
Under the name ‘NOX – a late, last greeting to the Thermenmuseum’ the doors will open from 7 to 10 p.m. Visitors will then be welcomed with projections that let visitors get acquainted with the residents of The Roman Museum. From 2027 that will be the successor to the Thermenmuseum.
							Metamorphosis
Sunday, 8 September marks the closing party Metamorphosis, the very last day. For that party, online tickets are also for sale that provide access to the museum in time slots between 11 and 4 p.m. The programme lists food, drink and music in the Taberna and activities outside for young and old. There is a Roman bouncy castle, a large screen with a film about the bathhouse, a Roman cook, soldier training and a Roman hairdresser. At 5 p.m. is the official closing and also the unveiling of the new Roman mural close to the museum. On that Sunday there is free access to the official closing and the activities outside the museum.
