REWATCH – L1 ‘Treasures of the Via Belgica’ episode 2 – Simpelveld

In this episode we explore the Roman past of Simpelveld and its surroundings by bicycle. Exactly 90 years ago, a truly exceptional archaeological find was made here by a miner. And the Romans had a whole range of gods, all of whom they naturally had to keep on their good side. That is why today we are making an offering to the gods. And… do you like sausage? The Romans certainly did. Today we are going to make and taste Roman sausage!
