In Kerkrade, music flows through the streets as well as through history. From brass bands and fanfares to the world-famous World Music Contest, music is part of the city’s DNA. And this tradition goes back further than you might think… all the way to Roman times.
Set off with the enchanting Roman singer Caecilia, who takes you through the landscape and through her life as a farmer’s daughter with big dreams by means of immersive audio stories. As you walk, you will discover remarkable places where Roman farmers once lived and worked. At Holzkuil, a complete Roman estate was excavated, while at Euregiopark traces of simple farms and even a mysterious terracotta bear figurine came to light.
A walk full of stories, music and surprises — where history and imagination come together.
